A vintage 'Strand Electric' miniature theatre spotlight, patt 45, believed to date from early 1950s. The light has not been rewired and is being sold in its current condition. There are marks and bumps on the metal casing as you would expect for a lamp of this age.
One wing nut is missing from the mounting bracket, but should be easy to replace. The slide focus and bulb holder are both present. The lens is complete and undamaged, though there is no bulb.
Strand Electric was founded in 1914 by London-based theatre electricians Arthur Earnshaw and Phillip Sheridan. The company is still synonymous with stage, theatre and film lighting though is now a subsiduary of Royal Philips Lighting, based in America.
